Soap and Glory – as good as it smells?

I got so much Soap & Glory for Christmas, I didn’t know what to try first! I’d never really used the brand save for a body spray I got when I was like, 14, and I thought it smelled really good but on reflection, it actually just smelt like vommed up meringue. As such, I’ve always associated Soap & Glory products with sweet, sickly smells for teenagers. Fast forward 10 years and it seems they’ve not only become really trendy, but I hear some of their products are really good! I was therefore elated to be gifted some Soap & Glory sets for Christmas and have been keenly trying some of the products out.

The products I have been trying are…

  • The Scrub Of Your Life Smoothing Body Buffer
  • Sugar Crush Fizz-A-Ball Bath Bomb
  • Original Pink Fizz-A-Ball Bath Bomb
  • The Righteous Butter Body Butter
  • Clean On Me Creamy Moisture Shower Gel
  • Hand Food Non-Greasy Hydrating Hand Cream

The bath bombs…

…were okay, I guess. They didn’t smell particularly strong (no competition against Lush, for example) but fizzed well in the tub. The only problem I had was that they are full of tiny specks of glitter which took me AGES to get off my bath and myself! I probably wouldn’t buy these myself, particularly at £4 each – you can get a really decent alternative for that!

The body buffer…

…is really nice. My skin feels so smooth and pampered after using this! It smells amazing and is a great addition to my bath regime. My skin feels soft and you don’t need to use much product. It’s quite a generous pot too – I don’t think I’ll be running out soon. It’s a little greasy when first applied but once it dries down, it feels lovely and your skin smells as good as it does in the pot!

The shower gel…

…was great! It smells glorious and it lathers up really well. I find I can smell it after getting out of the shower which is a pleasant surprise! The pump on mine seems to be a bit rubbish. I think without the pump it would be good – I’d definitely like to try this product in different packaging.

The body butter…

…smells really good, but that’s about it. It’s pretty greasy when it goes on and the pot is so tiny, I’m having to be really selective about where I use it so not to waste any product. That said, it does ‘melt’ like real butter so a small amount can go a long way. Given the choice, I would give this one a miss and grab the body buffer instead.

The hand cream

…is really lovely and isn’t greasy (so performs as advertised!). I don’t know if it’s doing a lot for my hands, and in fact it hasn’t done anything to improve recurring dry patches on my palms, but it feels nice and non-oily and the smell is so good! I think if you have really dry hands or any eczema this isn’t going to do anything for you, but if you don’t have any real skin issues this is a nice hand cream to use daily.

It seems the strength in Soap & Glory is still the smell of its products. They’re fun, sweet smells and the products are cute, feminine and fun. They aren’t particularly luxurious or even that good, but for the price point they make really nice gifts. I think if I were to try any more Soap & Glory products, it’ll be the makeup. I’ve heard the brow products and eyeliner are really good, so I’m excited to test them out! Have you got any Soap & Glory favourites?
